Most of us spend most of our days sitting. We drive to and from work, sit at a desk or computer for most of the day, come home and sit in front of the TV for hours on end, and then go to bed and sleep. Being inactive is hazardous for your health. A sedentary life style can lead to diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and other health problems. Beside getting in a workout 3 to 4 times a week you need to be more active. There are some things you can do to increase your activity level. Make sure you move, when on the phone, stand as you’re talking. Sit on a stability ball instead of chair, this will keep you moving and helps your core. Take water breaks often. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. At lunch take a walk. Park further away when you’re at work or shopping. When you get home cut your TV watching or surfing the web time. Now that summer is approaching do more things outside. Go for family walks or go to the park. Do some gardening or outside work.
